Today I visited an animal shelter and browsed the selection of cats - kittens and older felines alike who all need a loving home. Adopting a cat or any pet is such a huge responsibility so I find myself hesitating at the notion of being a cat dad... I have decided to sleep on it and see if my spirit is moved tomorrow. I did encounter a cat that I feel had positive 氣 and I think in a matter such as this one has to follow one's intuition.
It is also the start of May already, and time flies as they say. I have recently commited myself to not gaming during the workweek (which I define as Mon-Thur) and this week was my second week of doing so. I am pleased so far with the results, even if I do only end up napping instead. The restriction of time allows me to enjoy gaming more when the time comes. The most important consequence of this schedule is my ability to devote that time to other hobbies. This site is a beloved project of mine and stimulates my mind in the way a great video game does. Speaking of, other stimulating activities like reading and listening to music are easier to do without the option of gaming in the sense that the latter is such an easy, almost passive activity.
My focus thusfar with this website has been to establish uniform formatting on the active pages, which revolve mainly around my reviews of books, movies, etc. and I see this as a good compromise between my disinterest in situating my reviews on some social media aggregator (letterboxd, goodreads, etc.) and my desire to write down my thoughts for posterity. Earlier today I remarked to my friend that not long after I finish a book... maybe 6-8 months later I don't recall any specific thoughts about it other than my general impressions. This does a disservice to any book I read and especially to ones that I particularly enjoy.
That is all for now.
I continue to work industriously on the design, content, and functionality of my website.Earlier this evening I had the pleasure of watching a wonderful film with a friend. I will elaborate further in my review, which you can find by navigating to the "Film" section of my site.
Alas the corporatization and bastardization of the World Wide Web has forced me into a small, fetid corner of my own. My website is in the design and drafting stages, but every day I become more determined to learn the mysterious craft of "html coding". To that end I have enlisted the help of faithful friends including, but not limited to: "The Wizard" and "Leaguepingsound" (online aliases used to protect their identities).
Dearest reader, I invite you to return to this site at your leisure and follow the exciting progression of my divestment from the cabal of capitalist cyberelites! Web users of the world, unite!
